Hello and welcome to my Home Page.
Scroll down this page to learn all about me and read some of my favorite poems and quotes.
I was born Frances Fayette Kerr to my parents, Berry Ben Kerr and Willie Mae Pendergrass, in Granbury, Hood County, Texas.
I am a 3rd great grand-daughter of David Crockett and his second wife, Elizabeth Patton. Elizabeth's maiden name was Patton, she then married a Patton. Her first husband fought in the Creek Indian War along with David Crockett. He later died in a battle of that war. Elizabeth then married the widower, David Crockett. David's first wife, Polly, died after the birth of their daughter. David and Elizabeth's son, Robert Patton Crockett, had a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Crockett ( Mollie). Mollie married William A. Kerr. Their son, Benjamin Magnus Kerr married Nancy Oretha Tracy. Their child, Berry Ben Kerr, was my father. I am the ninth of ten children born to my father. My mother, Willie Mae Pendergrass, was Berry's second wife.
I share my life with Richard (Ric). We have been together now for 27 years. We have 4 children. Clinton Lee and Beverly Anne are my children from my first marriage. Laura Diane is Ric's daughter from his first marriage. Jason Richard is our son. We also have 5 grand children. Charles David (Dave) and Sarah Anne are the children of Beverly Anne. Kendall Kathryn, Madison Anne and Emma Lynn are the children of Laura Diane. I also have step children from my first marriage, Debra Gayle and Charles, Jr., grandchildren and great grandchildren. I love all kinds of music except jazz, love to dance, read, garden, piece quilt tops, quilt and making hand milled soaps from scratch.. I am a registered nurse by profession and have been nursing 29 years. I try to see God in all things.
I am a member of The Direct Descendents of David Crockett having held the offices of Historian, Secretary/ Treasurer, twice as President and two terms on the Board of Directors. I have coordinated three of the Crockett Family reunions which were held in Granbury and San Antonio, Texas. We have made many wonderful friends through our love and admiration of David Crockett. I collect and have a wonderful selection of David Crockett memorabilia. I have studied the life of David Crockett as much as possible and believe him to be one of the greatest man in American history. I also am a member of The Daughters of The Republic of Texas, through my linage to David Crockett.

The first photo is my membership form of the Direct Descendents of David Crockett. This second one is an autographed photo of Merrell Connally. He stars as Davy Crockett in the IMAX movie, The Price of Freedom. Merrell is the brother of the late Texas Governor, John Connally.

Things to Ponder:
Circumstances do not make the man, they only reveal him to himself.
*****************
A man who dares to waste one hour of life has not discovered the value of life.
Charles Darwin

What win I, if I gain the
thing I seek.
A dream, a breath, a froth
of fleeting joy.
Who buys a minutes mirth
to wail a week.
Or sells eternity
to get a toy.
For one sweet grape
who would the vine destroy.
Or what fond begger
but to touch the crown.
What with the sceptor bought
be stricken down.
Rape of Lucre by William Shakespeare

We shared our lives with Obie for 12 years. He was such a brave little fellow!
Regarding Grief Over The Loss Of A Pet
We who choose to surround ourselves with lives even more temporary
than our own live within a fragile circle, easily broken and often breached.
Unable to accept its awful gaps, we still would live no other way.
We cherish memory as the only certain immortality, never fully
understanding the necessary plan...

Wisdom from Forrest Gump
Life is Like a Box of Chocolates..
If you don't know where you are goin', you will probably not wind up there.
Most people don't look dumb until they start talkin'.
Nobody ever got into trouble by keepin' his mouth shut.
People not to talk back to;
Your teacher.
The police.
Your mama.
Always save enough money for one phone call and one use of a pay toilet.
Do not make excuses unless you have to.
To save energy, do not go out lookin' for trouble; chances are, it will find you soon enough.
Always be ready to take a chance: Look what it did for Rocky.
Life is like a rubber band: harder you go forward, harder you snap back. So do not make a slip up.
Do not eat anything you do not know what it is.
Always try to do the right thing, unless your conscience tells you otherwise.
If you can't sing good, sing loud.
I you see a line, go stand in it. Probably can't hurt nothin'.
There are times when you can not let the right thing stand in your way.
You got to cry, do it by yourself, and be quick about it.
Whatever you do, try to have a reason to do it.
Do not put stock in newspapers; you can find out more by lookin' around at what is goin' on.
Always say "Thank you", even if you don't mean it.
Do not cry over spilt milk.
Always be nice to your mama.

Comes the Dawn
After a while you learn the subtle difference
Between holding a hand and chaining a soul,
And you learn that love doesn't mean security.
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts
and presents aren't promises,
And you begin to accept your defeats
With your head up and your eyes open
With the grace of an adult, not the grief of a child,
And you learn to build your roads on today
Because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans.
And futures have a way of falling down in midflight.
After a while you learn
That even sunshine burns if you get too much,
So you plant your own garden
and decorate your own soul,
Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure...
That you really are strong.
And you really do have worth,
And you learn and learn...
With every goodbye you learn.
